The Alzheimer's Association is a group that works towards helping families of those suffering from Alzheimer's with coping with the disease as well as funding research. The spread ad below is meant to draw attention to the group and encourage individuals to volunteer and reach out to the group. Myself and my copywriter, Patience Young, focused on both research we found as well as personal experiences of fellow peers. The narrative for the Margy Jo print is based on my own personal experiences with the disease. My grandmother was diagnosed when I was 12, at that point scans showed that holes in her brain had already developed. Alzheimer's stripped away my grandmother of some of the things that made her who she was. It was like the lights were on and nobody was home. We wanted to draw attention to just how scary it is to have the disease and feel so helpless.
